• POLLO TROPICAL® CELEBRATES FIRST AUSTIN LOCATION WITH THREE-DAY GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION

July 19, 2016

Pollo Tropical, the fast casual restaurant that has gained a cult-like following for its citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken and authentic island-inspired sauces and sides, will celebrate the grand opening of its first Austin location with a three-day event complete with prizes, giveaways and island-inspired music and entertainment.

Events kick off on Friday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. with remarks from the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and members of the Pollo Tropical team. Doors open to the public at 11 a.m. and festivities begin with live Caribbean music and free meal coupons for the first 100 customers (redeemable on a future visit). Other giveaways on Friday include a catering package for 25 people and one for 15 people. On Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, the first 100 customers will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win Free Chicken for a Year* and receive a free meal coupon to redeem on a future visit.

“The opening of our first Austin-proper location is a milestone for our brand, so we are really blowing out the grand opening with three days of music, giveaways and fun,” said Pollo Tropical Chief Operating Officer Danny Meisenheimer. “We want to share our island heritage that combines a wide variety of cultural influences and the unique flavors of the Caribbean to create delicious food that our new Central Austin neighbors can feel good about eating.”

The 3,700-square-foot restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and will feature indoor seating for more than 90 guests, with limited table service and a convenient drive-thru. Kids 12 and under eat free every Tuesday at Pollo Tropical from open to close with the purchase of an adult entree. Guests can receive a coupon for either a buy one, get one free small TropiChop® or $3 off a family meal by signing up for the Pollo Reward$® loyalty program.
