Pollo Tropical brings back two delicious Caribbean favorites – citrus-marinated Grilled Shrimp and crispy Tostones – to its menu for a limited time beginning Feb. 24. 

Just in time for the Lenten season, Grilled Shrimp, marinated in a Caribbean mojo juice blend, returns to the menu in a variety of dishes, including the Shrimp Create Your Own TropiChop®, Shrimp Quesadilla Wrap and Shrimp Quesadilla Salad.

The Shrimp Quesadilla Salad features crisp romaine lettuce, black bean fiesta salad, multi-colored tortilla chips and shredded cheddar jack cheese, topped off with a 6-inch, hot-pressed cheese quesadilla and served with Chipotle Ranch dressing on the side. The Shrimp Quesadilla Wrap features melted cheddar jack cheese, freshly chopped tomatoes and a tangy Chipotle Ranch dressing, all on an 8.5-inch flatbread that is finished on the grill press.

Also returning are Tostones, an authentic Caribbean side dish of golden crispy plantains with a Cilantro Garlic sauce. Tostones are a zesty complement to any Pollo Tropical meal, including all of the limited-time shrimp dishes, Pollo Tropical’s signature citrus-marinated grilled chicken, TropiChops, sandwiches or wraps.

“Tostones are a traditional treat of the tropics,” said Pollo Tropical Director of Marketing Sandra Pascual. “Authentic, seasonal menu items such as Tostones and Grilled Shrimp are part of what make Pollo Tropical such a unique fast-casual dining alternative.”

Tostones are available at all company-owned Pollo Tropical locations as a five- or 10-piece order.
