While rapidly expanding, Pollo Tropical has rolled out a new restaurant design, “Big Blue”, across all markets and existing restaurants will see a remodel by end of 2018.

  • After 26 years, one month and six days, Pollo Tropical posted its first million dollar sales day on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

  • Tim Taft, CEO of Fiesta Restaurant Group®, appeared on CNBC’s Mad Money.

    As of December 15th, Pollo Tropical opened 12 new locations in Florida, 10 locations in Texas, 2 franchisees in Panama and Guatemala and one licensed restaurant at the University of Miami.

    Pollo Tropical opened first Texas location in Addison, March 28, 2014.

    Pollo Tropical earns another Guinness World Record for creating and serving 2,000 pounds of salsa at one of the largest pre-game football parties during the 2010 NFL Super Bowl in Miami. That’s right, we won the Super Bowl of Salsa.

  • Pollo Tropical enters new international markets with franchised units opening in Freeport, Bahamas, and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

    PR News recognizes us for its “Helping Handhelds Campaign” with a PR Platinum Award. The campaign was a single-day cell phone collection with a free sandwich or wrap giveaway for each phone donated benefiting Women in Distress. The effort collected more than 2,000 cell phones.

    Sales reach $100 million milestone.

  • Pollo Tropical wins the Super Bowl of black beans and rice! Created as part of the pre-game events leading up to the 1999 NFL Super Bowl in Miami, Pollo Tropical establishes a Guinness World Record for the largest serving of black beans & rice. The bowl was 10 feet in diameter, and the serving-size weighed more than 3,000 pounds.
